My Lovely Boyfriend

My Lovely Boyfriend
Have you ever felt in long distance relationship with your boyfriend? How did you feel when you were separated by the time and the distance? Did you miss him? If you missed him, what did you do? What did you do to manage your time for just had a call or to meet him? What were the things that made you missed him? Missing someone whom you love is something which is common for everyone. Without exception, this also happens in my life. I have a boyfriend but we almost never met. He is in java and I am in Bali. Because of our study, we have to be apart. This is why I always miss him. Every day, I think about him. I really miss his appearance, his personality, and the way he loves me.
He is an ordinary boy but still looks attractive because of his appearance. He is one of the men who love to fit the clothes that he is going to wear. Whatever he wears, he always looks cool. One day, when he came to my house with black T-Shirt and blue jeans, I was like seeing an actor, Dimas Anggara. Moreover, he wore a tight T-Shirt that made him much cooler. He is not as tall as the other boy. His body is six-packs so he looks tall enough. His pointed nose, his curly hair, and his thin lips add the beauty of my boyfriend. Physically, he is a perfect boy. I believe many girls will crush him at the first sight.
He is a good boy. He always respects to his family, especially his parents. Whatever his parents say, he always does it. He never denies anything that is ordered to him. Sometimes, the thing that makes me a little bit annoyed was when we have a date suddenly his parents called and asked him to go home. I was thinking that I could not be egoist. So I let him went home and have a date next days. Besides, he is a polite boy. This is seen by the way he came as a guest in my house. The way he speaks, the intonation, and also the way he greets my parents show that he is polite. I am lucky to have a good boy like him.
Every girl loves a romantic boy, including me. Fortunately, he is a romantic boy. Every night, he sends me a poetry that tells his feeling to me. He also sends me a bucket of flower in every special day, like in valentine day, in our anniversary, in my birthday, and other special days. He knows that I am a spoiled girl, so he loves me and adores me like he loves his family. Besides, we love traveling or going somewhere. When he comes from Java, he accompanies me to go wherever I want. This all makes me love and always miss him.
He is a perfect boy. I think every girl will adore my boyfriend if they know the characteristics of my boyfriend. He is an attractive, good, and romantic boy. I just never imagine that I will have a perfect boy like him. I am lucky as a girl to have a boyfriend like him.

My Ex-Boarding House

My ex- Boarding House
I will never forget my experiences when I was in Senior High School. At that time, my friends, Gayatri, Sawitri, Tiwi, Fuji, Ayu, Anes, Novi and I rented a house in Singaraja. We are from Bontihing and it is so far from our school, SMK Negeri 1 Singaraja. Because of that, we decided to rent a house near the school and stayed together. After having a boarding house, we thought that we could concentrate to our study, but what we expected was useless. During the days we stayed, we found lots of things that made us felt uncomfortable. That horrifying house in Wibisana Street Number 34 made us moved.
There were lots of gangsters around the house. The worst problem was the gangsters have a leader, named Kampek, but we used to call him “Batara Kala”. In Bali, Batara Kala is a name of creature that has bad attitude, bad temperature, bad manner, bad characteristics, and bad behavior. He was like Batara Kala, that’s way we used to name him Batara Kala. Moreover, his house was in front of our house. Can you imagine what we could do at that time? It’s totally scaring us. Everything should be by his permission. We were not allowed to be noisy, we were not allowed to laugh loudly, we were not allowed to turn off the light at night, we were not allowed to invite our friends, and we were not allowed to go out after 9 p.m.  One day, my best friend visited me in the evening. At that time, he went back home at 10 p.m.,then a group of gangster in Bale Banjar said “How satisfied you are! Surrounded by 8 girls, can I have one?” what a shame! I really wanted to get their mouths one by one and told them that he is my friend. He just visited me. He didn’t do something as they thought. I felt flared up to the gangsters besides I was so embarrassed to my friend. He is a good man and he just wanted to care with me but what he got was a disappointment. Since the incident happened, he never came again even in my new boarding house. The other friends also never came. They didn’t want to visit me and my friends because they knew that the gangsters used to disturb us. Besides, we often quarreled with Batara Kala. I remember at that time at 5p.m, Fuji was eating in front of the door. Suddenly, Batara Kala came in drunk and said madly “Hi… would you marry me? If you want, I’ll divorce my wife and live with you (he said with a laugh). Fuji replied “yes, it’s okay as long as you divorce your wife first, if you dare”. I wondered what was on his mind, and then he went mad and broke into our home. He hit Fuji’s head and face. We tried to against him. We cried together while trembling all day long but no one helped because they were also scared of him. A sentence shouted from Anes’s mouth “I swear if you have a daughter, later her dignity will be debased”. “I am not afraid” he said while getting back to his house. What in our mind at that time was “why there is no one comes and helps us”. Without thinking, I called my uncle for a help. The day after that incident, he also made a problem with the neighbor. He hit the neighbor’s cheek. It really made us felt uncomfortable and just wanted to move from there.
The house was very horrible. We found a lot of strange incidents especially at night. As what the neighbor said to us, Sawitri’s bedroom used to be a well and a well is used to be scaring. Besides, there were bushes behind the house which added the frightfulness of that house. Every night, we heard a strange sound at the back and sometimes from the bathroom and also from the kitchen. We used to see and hear the kitchen tools moved by themselves. We ever heard a sound like someone was eating at the back because the spoons were very noisy. When we spied it, suddenly it stopped moving and then came again and again. It was not strange again to find the light was on and off. One day at night when Sawitri and Anes stayed at the boarding house while I and the others were praying in Jagatnata temple, the light was on and off and the kitchen tools were so noisy. They ran off the house and cried. Because of anxiety, we lodge in our teacher’s house in Kerobokan village for two days. Since that incident, we used to take a bath together, sometimes four persons together was common for us. The unforgettable moment is when Tiwi and I got a shower. We saw a shadow like someone entered to Sawitri’s room. We asked our friend but no one of them entered to Sawitri’s room. How scared we were. Moreover, everyone who came to our boarding house felt so scared before we told the stories or incidents we ever had. They felt something strange when they came to that house. We didn’t want to stay in anxiety for a long, so we invited a shaman, a person who is called “Balian” in Bali to predict what kind of creature was there and what were the solutions. We did not know whether the shaman right or wrong. He said that the house was full of ghost. This all made us lived in an anxiety.
We really didn’t know that the environment in that house was so bad. We just thought that we got a large house but it’s cheap. Four rooms, one bathroom and one kitchen inside were only five million a year. Who would not be aroused to rent it? We didn’t know what kind of environment it was. We just thought about that cheap price so we rented it. Finally, we could not study because our concentration was troubled by the music. Every day, Batara Kala invited his friends to come to set music in Bale Banjar. There was no day without music for them. Sometimes, the neighbor beside our house did the karaoke every morning. We were troubled, totally troubled. A lot of children also used to play in our yard and made a noise. They yelled loudly moreover they came in our house and shouted at us. We did not know what our mistakes were. We really didn’t understand. Oh God! It was really annoying. Batara Kala also often quarreled with his wife. Every woman do not like have a husband like him, I think. A husband should work and earn some money for his family. Might be that was the cause why his wife always got angry to him. Besides all of that noisy, there was something that made me uncomfortable. At six o’clock when we got up, we found all of our goods outside the bedroom. A thief has destroyed our house. Oh my God! We couldn’t help staying there anymore.

At the end of the second grade, we decided to move to Pulau Lombok Street. We could not stay any longer at that house which was full of gangster, horrible and bad for students. One lesson for us, don’t be aroused to a cheap price.

My Best Friend “Padmi”

My Best Friend “Padmi”
Do you have a best friend? Who is she/he? Is she/he your classmate? Is she/he really good as a friend? What is the thing that makes you feel comfortable? One of my classmates is my best friend. Her name is Padmi. She’s a really kind person, an attractive girl, and a good friend to share with.
Padmi is the kindest friend I have ever had. She never says no when I need her help. Whatever I order to her, she always says “Yes, I will” or “with pleasure”. Can you imagine how kind she is? Besides, she is a patient girl. One day, when we did assignment in my boarding house, she asked me to browse some sources on the internet. What I did at the time was opening my face book account. I didn’t find the source of our assignment. She knew that I did something wrong, so she advised me patiently by saying “sorry Yu, I don’t want to advise you, but can you do the assignment first, please? Be serious!” From that case, I know that she is a patient. A very patient girl I have ever met.
Every girl loves to have an attractive appearance, including her. She is a fashionable girl. Whatever she wears, she still looks beautiful and attractive. Sometimes, I want to imitate the way she fits the clothes that she wears, but I can’t. Whatever I wear, I never look like her. Maybe this is caused by her fair complexion that supports her appearance. Moreover, her sexy lips, her black-straight hair, and her thin body add the beauty of herself. Even though she is not tall, her body is thin that makes her looks tall. Physically, she is a perfect girl and I am sure, there are many boys who want to say their feeling to her.
For me, a good friend is the person who always besides me even though I am happy or sad. Padmi is my friend who always listens to me. Whatever I feel, I am used to sharing with her. She is good at saving all of my secrets. She always gives me support to deal with my problems and she always gives me advise if I something wrong. When I got angry to my boy friend because he couldn’t pick me up at the campus, she then said “don’t be like that. I think he has a reason so he couldn’t pick you up. Don’t worry, I’ll accompany you”. That’s the proof that she always besides me when I need her help. Every day, I share my feeling to her and the things that I usually share with her are about my boyfriend, my family, my lessons, and my daily life. So, after I tell all to her, I feel comfortable. I love to have a good friend to share with like her.

She is a really best friend. She is a patient, attractive and good friend to share with. I am lucky to be her friend. I hope our friendship will never separated by anything.

Stay Away, Live Better
Five years ago, I was a student of SMK Negeri 1. I stayed in a boarding house because my house is so far from my school. I felt so anxious at the first day I stayed in my boarding house because I not used to stay apart from my parents. I thought that I couldn’t stay away from them. I cried every day. I didn’t know what to do because I was a spoiled girl. So, instead of crying every day, I tried to adapt with the environment. After four months, everything changed. My being apart from my parents changed my personality.
I used to do everything by myself. In other word, I became independent. Every day, I cooked on my own. I brought the rice from my house every month and I bought the dishes near my boarding house. One day, my pocket was used up. I didn’t know what I have to do. I didn’t have my motorcycle so I couldn’t go home. Afterwards, I asked my roommate who is from Pancasari to lend me some money. Poor me! She also didn’t have any money. She just has three pieces of potato left. Without thinking, I cooked those potatoes for dinner. Even though I didn’t like it, I tried to eat in order I was not sick. Besides cooking my own dishes, I used to do my laundry by myself. It was so hard for me. I felt tired and sad to do that on my own. I was thinking that I should not do that. It was my mother’s duty, I thought. Then I realized that I have to be independent. I have to try to do everything without one’s help, especially my mother. My parents told me to be thrifty. They often told me to save my money, so that I tried to do a business. Firstly I join Oriflame. I became a member of that MLM. Unfortunately, it didn’t stay along. I couldn’t find any customer so I was out. Then, I tried another business. I sold pulse for my friends and my family. It was successful. I got a lot of profit and I could buy my needs. Besides, I could save a lot of money. Unfortunately, it was not as successful as my study. I used to concentrate to my business so I never read my book. Because of that, my mother asked me not to do a business any more. About money to pay my scholar-p, it was their responsible. I just needed to study. As what I told before, I have no motorcycle, so I went to school on foot. It was really fun. I enjoyed it very much. Overall, it was a really precious experience. It taught me a lot about independence.
I could do whatever I wanted. Every Sunday morning, I asked my roommates to go to traditional market to buy vegetables, traditional food, and sometimes clothes. In the evening, we used to go to Buleleng harbor and also Hardy’s. We were not shy though we went on foot. I was also free to invite my friends and my boyfriend to my boarding house. Sometimes, they accompanied me to go to Banjar hot spring, to botanical garden or to some places. I was very happy because they couldn’t prohibit me. No one knew wherever I went. One day, when I was in Banjar hot spring, suddenly my father called me. He asked me where I was. I didn’t know what to say. I couldn’t think anymore, so I said that I was in my boarding house. He got angry. He asked me to be back. After arriving in my boarding house, I found him there.  He advised me and threatened me. I was not lucky at that time. I was fool. I just thought about my happiness without thinking about my parent’s anxiety. I realized that I could not do that. I should read my book in my spare time rather than going out which didn’t bring any advantageous for me.
After that incident, I tried to concentrate to my study. I read my book in every moment. I mean, whenever I have a time to read, I grabbed my book. I also rescheduled my daily routine. Every day after coming from school, I used to read my book for thirty minutes. I also read my book every 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. I reduce my time to have fun. The result was my rank increase every semester from sixth to the first rank. Besides, my teacher trusted me to join an accounting competition. Even though I join a lot of competition, I never became the winner. I remember when I joined a competition in UNHI when my friends got the second and third rank. I cried there. I was very shy because I could not give a trophy to my school. One thing that I would never forget was when I join a national competition, my friend got the first and the second rank and I got the fourth. Unfortunately, the committee only looked for the first to the third rank. Oh my goodness! How poor I was. I knew that it was my fault. One thing that I have to do was study hard more than I did.
It was a really good lesson for me. Being apart is not bad but it is very precious because it could change my personality. I could be independent, free, and concentrated more. Thank you my parents.

Miss World 2013

No Matter What Happens, Miss World Pageant 2013 Must Go On

Miss world is one of beauty contest in the world that has been held for 62 years. The beauty contest that focuses on 3B, beauty, brain and behavior will be held in Indonesia. Indonesia becomes the first country in the Southeast Asia that hosts this contest. So, Indonesia must be able to use this good opportunity in promoting the culture. But seemingly, there are some people who disagree to hold this contest in Indonesia. Many people disagree because they think that it will uphold sharia in Indonesia. Besides that, Defender Front’s Indonesia claims this contest as one of activity that will uphold the moral of Muslim in Indonesia. Ok, let’s imagine! Indonesia is not Islamic country. We must think in positive not negative. So, must Miss World 2013 go on? Yes! It must go on because of three reasons. First of all, the contestants of Miss World will not break our law, so nothing to worry about. “There will be no bikinis, no exposure of bodies,” Syafril Nasution, a member of MNC’s organizing committee for the event, told The Wall Street Journal. If you are a foreigner in a country, so you must obey the rule of that country, right? Just like the contestants of Miss World 2013. Of course they will obey our rule. You know, they come here as the contestant of their country. They bring their own country to the world by this contest. So, it is impossible if they do not obey the rule.  Hari Tanusudibjo, the CEO of MNC and also Made Mangku Pastika the governor of Bali, stated that the contestants of Miss World will not wear bikinis for the beach activities but they will wear traditional Balinese’s costumes, sarong. The sarong will close their body until their ankle. So, Miss World is not a contest that just shows the body of the women as what Muslim people in Indonesia thought before.
Second, this contest is aimed to create and build the friendship between the countries in the world. The contestants from different countries will gather in the same time and place.  Of course they will interact. This kind of contest also forces the contestants to corporate with others even though they are from different countries. This contest also aims to build the friendship through many games. One of the games is Bakiak. Bakiak is a traditional game in Indonesia that needs a corporation to win the game. Besides that, Tug-of war (Tarik Tambang) is also one of the games that needs corporation. The contestants will be divided into two sections, and then they have to corporate to pull the tie. The group that can pull tie longer than the other will win the game. So, those are good activities to build a friendship and togetherness among the contestants.
The last reason is that Miss World brings many benefits for our country. By this chance, we can promote our heritage to the world easier and free, of course. Why?  It is all because this event will be attended by so many journalists all over the world and indirectly they will expose the beauty and culture of our country. Liliana Tanosadibio, said on Saturday, September 7, 2013, “This is an opportunity for Indonesia to expose its natural beauty, its culture and the position of Indonesian woman to the world.” So after this contest, many tourists will come to visit Bali and it will be interesting for the investor to make a trade. We can imagine that the income of our country will increase by the coming of tourists. As we know, another people only know about Bali, not Indonesia. With this event, people who are involve hopes that Indonesia will be known. So it will influence the economic sector in Bali, indirectly.

In summary, this contest is very important because it brings many benefits.  By this contest, we can build a friendship between many countries in the world. With the friendship, people can share their experiences such as their country’s achievements that can inspire others to be better. Besides that, we can promote our country so that Indonesia will be known by the cultures in the world and it will increase our income. Indonesia is not Islamic country. That’s why we should hold this event in Indonesia and we don’t need to do a protest because it will not against the law in our country.
